We speak to Vivion Connolly, Managing Director of Connollys of Moy, as he reflects on receiving the Ulster Tatler Lifetime Achievement Award for Furniture Retailer.
Congratulations Vivion, how does it feel to receive this honour?
“Honestly, when you’re building a business, you’re not thinking about awards, you’re thinking about people, about service. Looking back now, I feel proud of what we’ve built.”
Let’s rewind, tell me, where did it all begin?
“In 1994, I opened my first store with one goal, to offer quality and care. From there, we grew beyond our original space and evolved into what is now Connollys of Moy.”
“We listen to our customers and continuously refresh what we offer.”
Tell us, what inspired the Mobility Studio?
“It was created due to real customer needs, offering comfort, dignity, and design. We wanted to remove the stigma around mobility furniture and create a space that feels welcoming and supportive.”
Connollys of Moy has evolved over the years, what’s been key to that growth?
“We listen to our customers, invest in our team, and continuously refresh what we offer, whether it’s new ranges or innovative services.”
You’ve always supported both charity and sport, why is that important?
“I’ve always believed in giving back. Supporting charities like Marie Curie and Macmillan, as well as, sponsoring local sports clubs, is our way of staying rooted in the community and making a real difference beyond business.”
And finally, what’s next for Connollys?
“We keep evolving, with style. We stay grounded in service. And enjoying every step of it.”
